This report is designed for Program Managers and Engineering Leaders who need to assess the overall status of deployed issues (and associated PRs). The insights in this report can also be utilized to efficiently update the release status of an issue (and its associated PRs) to leadership teams.
Report Overview
The Deployment summary report serves to:
Highlight Flags: Display flags associated with issues if the PRs associated with issues either have deployment failures (in the most recent deployment) or have open bugs since the first deployment.
Details from integrated CI/CD tool: Showcases the following data points extracted from the CI/CD tool:
- The job configured for a landscape.
- The total deployments for a PR associated with an issue.
- The total failures (for those deployments).
- The status of the most recent deployment.
Indicates issue and the associated PR being deployed.
Deployment Health Analysis
The report computes the health of a feature using:
- Open bugs: Open bugs since the first deployment of the PR in the configured environment.
- Deployment failures: Deployment failures in the configured environments.
Note: Rules for computing the health can be customized using the report configurator.
Optional Deep Dives
Users can explore a variety of data points across the following categories:
Core PR and Issue Data: Metrics shown in the Highlights & Overview section, extracted from project management tools (e.g., Jira) and version control system (e.g. Github), provides contextual information from the mentioned tools.
Deployment Data: Metrics in the Deployment Overview section (available when a CI/CD tool is integrated) offer insights on:
- The details of the job that executes the deployment.
- The latest build details with the status of the latest deployment.
- The landscape of deployment and the deployed branch.
Pull Request/Merge Request Data: Metrics in the PR Breakdown section highlights key data points about the PR being deployed.
Data sources
The report integrates data from:
- Project Management Tools: e.g., Jira.
- Version Control Systems: e.g., GitHub.
- CI/CD Tools: e.g., Jenkins.
This report will not be populated if a CI/CD tool is not integrated with the platform.
